Has Harper Government sold out to China?

The Harper government has agreed to an establishment of a Telecommunications Company, Huawei, in Canada. Security experts in both Canada and the US are very concerned as China is known to spy through telecommunications.

Both the US and Australia had refused to China to make such an arrangement because of security concerns. However it looks it did not bother Harper government.

“The former head of U.S. counter-espionage says the Harper government is putting North American security at risk by allowing a giant Chinese technology company to participate in major Canadian telecommunications projects.”

“Even Canada's own intelligence agencies have warned the Harper government of the risks of throwing open the door to Chinese telecom companies.” CBC, The National

Dinosaurs farting caused global warming

Past dinosaurs

Modern day dinosaurs

“In a major new climate finding, researchers have calculated that dinosaur flatulence could have put enough methane into the atmosphere to warm the planet during the hot, wet Mesozoic era.” Ottawa Citizen.

Researchers have zeroed in on the real cause of global warming. I could not agree more. And that problem continues to this day. It is the dinosaurs who perpetuate to aggravate the problem. Today’s dinosaurs are industrialists; more specifically big oil companies and companies who are involved in natural gas and other fossil fuels production.

Oil Sands in Alberta: Who owns them?

“More than two-thirds of all oilsands production in Canada is owned by foreign entities, sending a majority of the industry's profits out of the country, says a new analysis released Thursday by a British Columbia-based conservation group.” As reported by The Vancouver Sun. Harper is going around the world selling Oilsands. If it is not owned by Canadians then who is he selling for? Amongst others China owns 16%.

Then of course there is the deleterious environmental impact of this undertaking. This does not look very promising.

Complete Original '07 Zeitgeist With 2010 Updates by_ Peter Joseph -Video

I just watched the above video. It is a long video but it is amazing. It suggests that 10 Jesus like figures existed before him. Starting with Horus who was born December 25, 3000 B.C. Some of the similarities are that they all were:

Born to a virgin

Started preaching at age 30

Had 12 apostles

Were Crucified and then risen from the dead etc.

It basically advances the theory that Jesus never existed and all religions are a fraud.

From there it states the case of 9/11 and some conspiracy theories.

Manipulation by the powerful to start:
1st World War
2nd World War
Vietnam War

And more recently are the Iraq and Afghanistan wars and now a push for war with Iran. All wars are very profitable to just a few according to the video.

There are a lot of conspiracy theories advanced in this video.

Unfortunately I cannot embed the video. You can watch it here.

It is a 2 hours long video and you need a lot of patience to watch it.

His chances of being a nominee are zilch, zero but he keeps going. Especially now that Newt Gingrich and Rick Santorum have dropped out and Romney’s nomination is all but certain.

I like Ron Paul’s foreign policy platform as he is not in favour of U.S. intervention and he believes that the trillions spent in Iraq and Afghanistan could have been utilized to boost the U.S economy. He believes in diplomacy over wars and invasion. Other than that I am not sure what he stands for and if the Americans will buy his internal policies. Maybe he can influence U.S policies by going on in this manner. He is also getting up in age as he is 76.

China/U.S. relations and Chen Guangcheng Drama

A handout photo from U.S. Embassy Beijing Press office shows
blind activist Chen Guangcheng (2nd L) being accompanied
by U.S. Assistant Secretary of State for East Asian and
Pacific Affairs Kurt Campbell (front R) and U.S. Ambassador
to China Gary Locke (C), in Beijing, May 2.

Guangcheng saga kind of shook up both countries i.e. China and the United States. Secretary of State Hillary Clinton was visiting China and did not want any trouble and neither did China. What is the fuss all about? China is trying to control its population growth and maybe rightly so otherwise its population may increase by the billions in a relatively short period of time.

Forced abortion could be characterized as wrong but other birth control measures would look justified. What is China supposed to do?

Especially the Republicans in the U.S had a field day. They blamed the Obama administration for not taking the concrete actions, letting go Guangcheng from the safety of the U.S embassy, and not properly helping the dissident.

There is an interesting piece in The Toronto Star

Thoughts on a lazy Saturday!

According to Christian mythology Jesus came to this world over 2000 years ago – 4 B.C. After he was crucified he rose from the dead and met with his followers (apostles) and consoled them.

Now 2000 years later our world is a mess - wars, killings, genocides, famines, natural disasters etc. etc. Why does he not come back to fix this all? Or for that matter why do other prophets not come back and do something and fix the world? It is not happening. Do you blame people who are turning to atheism?

Does torture work?

It is public knowledge now that the Bush administration used brutal torture procedures on 9/11 suspects and other detainees – such as water-boarding and sleep deprivation. This method of torture is illegal under the U.S. laws. Since these illegal activities by the Bush administration many experts have come forward and stated that torture does not work and that a person being tortured would say whatever investigators want to hear. A former CIA operative Glenn L. Carle wrote a book on the subject matter. In his book he clearly states that torture does not work and he states:

“The methods that worked were the same ones that work in classic intelligence operations: establishing a rapport with the individual, understanding his fears, hopes, interests, quirks. It is a psychological task, very similar to what one should do when establishing any human relationship.”

More about Glenn L. Carle.

Now a former director of the CIA’s National Clandestine Service Jose A. Rodriguez, Jr wrote a book “Hard Measures” in which he states that torture works. I believe he is trying to protect his own butts as he himself might have been involved in torture practices directly or indirectly.

I believe torture does not work and Bush and his cronies committed crimes against humanity. In the process they have endangered their own soldiers who in captivity might be tortured too since Bush administration felt it was justified.

Read more about Jose A. Rodriguez and his interview with the 60 Minutes of CBS.

Jason Kenney, Minister of Citizenship and Immigration, and Racism

Watch this video and decide for yourself.

Kenny also accused Mr. Freeman of being a cop-killer and a former member of the Black Panther movement, both accusations are untrue. The cop-killing accusation was made in the House of Commons thus he may have immunity there and cannot be sued. However, outside the House of Commons he called Mr. Freeman a cop-shooter.

In case of Conrad Black, who is a convicted felon, Mr. Kenney has rolled out the welcome mat for him. Apparently he is a rich white man. I understand there are many other immigration and refugee cases where Kenney’s approach has been xenophobic and racist. Kenny and his boss Harper are giving a real bad name to Canada. Canadians must not sit silently and see these hideous policies of the Harper government unfold.

As far as Mr. Freeman shooting a cop in 1969 we must read the case of Rodney King and how was he treated by the Los Angeles police, and what ensued.
