Has Harper Government sold out to China?
Both the US and Australia had refused to China to make such an arrangement because of security concerns. However it looks it did not bother Harper government.
“The former head of U.S. counter-espionage says the Harper government is putting North American security at risk by allowing a giant Chinese technology company to participate in major Canadian telecommunications projects.”
“Even Canada's own intelligence agencies have warned the Harper government of the risks of throwing open the door to Chinese telecom companies.” CBC, The National Recommend this post

Dinosaurs farting caused global warming
Past dinosaurs
Modern day dinosaurs
“In a major new climate finding, researchers have calculated that dinosaur flatulence could have put enough methane into the atmosphere to warm the planet during the hot, wet Mesozoic era.” Ottawa Citizen.
Researchers have zeroed in on the real cause of global warming. I could not agree more. And that problem continues to this day. It is the dinosaurs who perpetuate to aggravate the problem. Today’s dinosaurs are industrialists; more specifically big oil companies and companies who are involved in natural gas and other fossil fuels production. Recommend this post

Libya Mission cost Canadians 7 times more than we were led to believe
“Last October, MacKay told CBC Radio's The House the Libyan mission had cost taxpayers less than $50 million.”
The actual cost was $347 million. First it was F-35 and now this. Harper government continues to mislead Canadians on many fronts. These warriors are costing Canadians tax payers too much. Bev Ode likes $16 glass of orange juice. It is only taxpayers’ money, eh! Who cares!

Oil Sands in Alberta: Who owns them?

“More than two-thirds of all oilsands production in Canada is owned by foreign entities, sending a majority of the industry's profits out of the country, says a new analysis released Thursday by a British Columbia-based conservation group.” As reported by The Vancouver Sun. Harper is going around the world selling Oilsands. If it is not owned by Canadians then who is he selling for? Amongst others China owns 16%.
Then of course there is the deleterious environmental impact of this undertaking. This does not look very promising. Recommend this post
Harper Government wants to watch you naked
First it was Vic Toews who wanted to watch over you especially what you do on the internet. Now Harper government wants to strip you naked if you decide to travel by air. There is a headline in The Huffington Post which reads,'Naked' Scanners Being Pushed On Travellers Even Though Canada's Government Hasn't Tested Them”.
“Canadian airport security officers are pushing travellers to use 'naked' scanners that were not independently tested and are now tied to documented cases of severe headaches and at least one unexplained radiation burn.”

Rob Ford can be a moneymaking machine for Toronto
His latest antic was that he gave a speech on Freedom of the Press Day and stated that it was important for the media to be free.
“The day serves as a reminder that violations of press freedom occur in countries around the world where journalists, editors, publishers are harassed, detained, attacked and killed,” said Mayor Ford.
Then he left without answering a single question from the media. He especially refuses to answer any questions if any of the Toronto Star reporters are there – definitely not if it is Daniel Dale of The Toronto Star. So much for the freedom of the press. Recommend this post

What Ron Paul is running for or running from?
His chances of being a nominee are zilch, zero but he keeps going. Especially now that Newt Gingrich and Rick Santorum have dropped out and Romney’s nomination is all but certain.
I like Ron Paul’s foreign policy platform as he is not in favour of U.S. intervention and he believes that the trillions spent in Iraq and Afghanistan could have been utilized to boost the U.S economy. He believes in diplomacy over wars and invasion. Other than that I am not sure what he stands for and if the Americans will buy his internal policies. Maybe he can influence U.S policies by going on in this manner. He is also getting up in age as he is 76. Recommend this post

Conrad Black has many friends in Canada
A journalist by the name of Peter Worthington opines that “Black is as Canadian as maple syrup”. Worthington says Black’s renunciation of Canadian citizenship was because of Jean Chretien. Mr. Worthington, Canada is composed of Canadians and Jean Chretien is not Canada as Harper is not Canada. Moreover, Black is a convicted felon.
Now that he is here maybe Harper should appoint Black a Senator because Black does support conservative causes. It is sickening that Cons will take this kind of position.
Mr. Gary Freeman is Canadian too. Why is he denied entry into Canada? Because he is a black man.

China/U.S. relations and Chen Guangcheng Drama
A handout photo from U.S. Embassy Beijing Press office shows
blind activist Chen Guangcheng (2nd L) being accompanied
by U.S. Assistant Secretary of State for East Asian and
Pacific Affairs Kurt Campbell (front R) and U.S. Ambassador
to China Gary Locke (C), in Beijing, May 2.
Guangcheng saga kind of shook up both countries i.e. China and the United States. Secretary of State Hillary Clinton was visiting China and did not want any trouble and neither did China. What is the fuss all about? China is trying to control its population growth and maybe rightly so otherwise its population may increase by the billions in a relatively short period of time.
Forced abortion could be characterized as wrong but other birth control measures would look justified. What is China supposed to do?
Especially the Republicans in the U.S had a field day. They blamed the Obama administration for not taking the concrete actions, letting go Guangcheng from the safety of the U.S embassy, and not properly helping the dissident.

Thoughts on a lazy Saturday!
According to Christian mythology Jesus came to this world over 2000 years ago – 4 B.C. After he was crucified he rose from the dead and met with his followers (apostles) and consoled them.
Now 2000 years later our world is a mess - wars, killings, genocides, famines, natural disasters etc. etc. Why does he not come back to fix this all? Or for that matter why do other prophets not come back and do something and fix the world? It is not happening. Do you blame people who are turning to atheism?

Does torture work?
“The methods that worked were the same ones that work in classic intelligence operations: establishing a rapport with the individual, understanding his fears, hopes, interests, quirks. It is a psychological task, very similar to what one should do when establishing any human relationship.”
Now a former director of the CIA’s National Clandestine Service Jose A. Rodriguez, Jr wrote a book “Hard Measures” in which he states that torture works. I believe he is trying to protect his own butts as he himself might have been involved in torture practices directly or indirectly.
I believe torture does not work and Bush and his cronies committed crimes against humanity. In the process they have endangered their own soldiers who in captivity might be tortured too since Bush administration felt it was justified.

Facebook has serious problems
An Exile from the Kingdom of

Whenever I try to sign into my Facebook account it asks me for my phone number and then a government-issued I.D. What is this – airport security? I have given up on the Facebook. Mark Zuckerberg grow up.
There are many unsettling stories about Facebook, that the personal information of Facebook users is used for other commercial purposes to make more money. Mark Zuckerberg go easy on your greed. Then there were Tyler and Cameron Winklevoss, the twin brothers who accused Mark Zuckerberg of stealing their idea for a social networking site and were awarded $65 million.
I think I had it with Facebook.

Is Dalai Lama an alien?
Dalai Lama:
"There are great mysteries hiding in the clouds of the Himalayas. It is suggested the extreme environment is inviting to extraterrestrials that utilize the high mountaintops as discrete landing pads. Whether the 14th Dalai Lama is from Earth or not continues to be subject to intense speculation, but there are few doubts that the Himalayas are home to more than just humans."

Jason Kenney, Minister of Citizenship and Immigration, and Racism
Kenny also accused Mr. Freeman of being a cop-killer and a former member of the Black Panther movement, both accusations are untrue. The cop-killing accusation was made in the House of Commons thus he may have immunity there and cannot be sued. However, outside the House of Commons he called Mr. Freeman a cop-shooter.
In case of Conrad Black, who is a convicted felon, Mr. Kenney has rolled out the welcome mat for him. Apparently he is a rich white man. I understand there are many other immigration and refugee cases where Kenney’s approach has been xenophobic and racist. Kenny and his boss Harper are giving a real bad name to Canada. Canadians must not sit silently and see these hideous policies of the Harper government unfold.
As far as Mr. Freeman shooting a cop in 1969 we must read the case of Rodney King and how was he treated by the Los Angeles police, and what ensued.
Read the CBC story.
I believe Mr. Freeman that he fired the cop in self-defence. Recommend this post

Jimmy Kimmel called Allen West a jackass at the White House Correspondents dinner
Jimmy Kimmel was not kidding. Allen West is a jackass. Remember when he said that 78 to 80 House Democrats were Communists.
Here are some other nuggets from Allen West:
“I must confess, when I see anyone with an Obama 2012 bumper sticker, I recognize them as a threat to the gene pool.”
“And I think that we also should be censoring the American news agencies which enabled [Julian Assange] to do this and also supported him and applauding him for the efforts.”
“George Bush got snookered into going into some mosque, taking his shoes off, and then saying that Islam was a religion of peace.”
“The Democratic appetite for ever-increasing redistributionary handouts is in fact the most insidious form of slavery remaining in the world today,”
I think the word "insane" applies to him too.

“The Jet That Ate the Pentagon”
Interesting headline on the front page of The Huffington Post about F-35.
“Claimed to be near invisible to radar and able to dominate any future battlefield, the F-35 will replace most of the air-combat aircraft in the inventories of the U.S. Air Force, Navy, Marine Corps, and at least nine foreign allies, and it will be in those inventories for the next 55 years. It's no secret, however, that the program -- the most expensive in American history -- is a calamity.”
