Stephen Hawking’s Favourite pastime

“I have seen Stephen Hawking at the club more than a handful of times," the member told the celebrity site. "He arrives with an entourage of nurses and assistants. Last time I saw him, he was in the back 'play area' lying on a bed fully clothed with two naked women gyrating all over him.

… Twice divorced and the father of three, Hawking is director of research at the university's Center(University of Cambridge) for Theoretical Cosmology and a well-known expert on black holes and the Big Bang. He earned worldwide fame with his 1988 best-seller "A Brief History of Time," though he made another big media bang last January when he called women "a complete mystery."

Sacha Baron Cohen: Comedian?

You watch this video and decide if this guy is really a comedian.

In my opinion, this guy is a horse's ass, and his antics cannot be characterized as comedy. I have nothing against his going in character, but his actions were less than desirable. When Ryan Seacrest tried to interview him, one must commend him to interview such a nutjob, Cohen was carrying an urn pretending that inside were the ashes of Kim Jong Il. As Seacrest asked the questions Cohen opened the urn and spilled the contents onto Seacrest.

It was an awful scene that was not funny at all. Cohen is totally crazy and not a comedian but a pest.

GOP Debates and the State of the Republican Party

I admit, I am a political junkie. I enjoy following elections and rarely miss any national level debates whether Canadian or American.

Watching the GOP presidential debate on February 22nd in Arizona, I have to say, this is the worse group of candidates any political party has ever put forward - Ron Paul the physician at least has some good ideas on foreign policy, but a dangerous small government policy domestically. Then there's Romney the cardboard cut-out, fake Santorum, and lobbyist money-bags Gingrich, the last one claiming to "run against Washington" when he's the poster boy of Washington corruption.

These candidates are scary - they scare you that there is a God who is only for the United States, where the rest of the world must bend to America's will. If any country does not comply, then severe sanctions or invasion and slaughter. The exception to this point of course is Ron Paul, but he is a long-shot for the nomination.

Is this the best the Republicans can do? Is this the state of American politics today? Scary, especially as America is the most powerful country in the world.

Human Hospital Emergency Room gone to dogs

I have often heard people complaining about hospital emergency rooms -how long it takes and that care given is substandard. However, if the patients are puppies then the situation is different. They get the best treatment.
“…two sick dogs from Corpus Christi, Texas, made their way to a human hospital and waited patiently in the lobby, KIII TV reports.
….This isn't the first time a furry friend has figured out how to get the help and attention of humans.”
….According to the station, hospital staff treated the "emaciated" pups, and a doctor carried them to the station's van, which then transported them to the Gulf Coast Humane Society.”

Stephen Harper and Vic Toews: Conservative Priorities

Safe: Child's play.

Dangerous, may warrant police raids.

Conservative priorities are out of whack with reality: according to them, there's money for fighter jets and prisons we don't need, but cutting valuable staff from Environment Canada is okay... because there is not enough money? I guess Harper was worried that he and his tarsands buddies would be roundly disproven on their denial of climate change.

More recently, Harper has abolished the long gun registry - government does not need to know how many guns you own - but (along with his friend Vic Toews) wants to pass legislation to allow government to snoop on everything we do on the internet.

So... by CON-logic it's invasive if it's to do with guns... but it's okay for government to know - and keep track of - everything we do on the internet. I guess in Harperland, surfing on the internet is more dangerous than guns... because guns don't kill people, e-mails do?

This is a government out of touch with reality.

Stephen Harper's "Ethical" Visit To China

Harper had a special gift for the president of China Hu Jintao, a can of "ethical oil" all the way from the tarsands. If this deal goes through, I wish all my friends from British Columbia good luck because it will be a port in BC from where this "ethical oil" will be shipped to China with a pipeline running through the province.
