Syria: Foots on the ground

"The American footprint in the war against ISIS is about to get bigger and for the first time U.S. ground troops are going to be based inside Syria"

Here we go again. Obama was supposed to end all the wars. Afghanistan and Iraq are still ongoing wars and Obama has added Syria now. West and especially U.S. is bent upon destabilizing the Middle East.

Finally, Stephen Harper is gone - an end to a decade-long nightmare for our country. His politics of control, fear, and division finally caught up to him. We got our country back, an end to scapegoating religious minorities, an end to the war on science, and hopefully the return to a sane foreign policy.

I think Justin Trudeau could be a good Prime Minister and it was great that his victory speech included a strong affirmation of multiculturalism.

It would have been nice for the Greens to get more seats. Among other things, they are the only party who unconditionally oppose the Energy East tarsands pipeline. At least Elizabeth May is back in Parliament though.

The Day of Change

I hope Canadians send Harper harping back to Calgary. Harper has damaged our country's reputation, muzzled scientists, and ran a campaign based on racial intolerance. It is time for him to go.

Also, everyone, exercise your democratic right, vote.
