Ann Coulter and Karl Rove

When students demonstrated outside the University of Ottawa and Ann Coulter cancelled her appearance, although she did pocket $10,000, the free speech enthusiasts started giving lectures and we were called hicks in Canada. Then some said that she should have been ignored. You cannot ignore her when the media in Canada and the US was giving extensive coverage about her appearance at the University of Western Ontario, London, Ont.

Now Karl Rove received even stronger resistance in Los Angles. Heckling became so intense that he cancelled his book signing. Kudos to these hecklers. Dum bums like Ann Coulter and Karl Rove must be stopped as they are merchants of hatred and they cause havoc in society. In Iraq, war crimes were committed and Karl Rove played a major role in the decision to invade Iraq. Is he a war criminal? Only courts can decide that but he must not be allowed to profit from it. Ann Coulter spreads hatred and draws financial benefits from it. There should be and must be limits to this business of free speech when this free speech impinges on the rights of the rest of society and the world.

Michael Moore: Capitalism A Love Story

Now that this movie is available on DVD, I did watch it. Brilliant. Michael Moore is a genius and a man with a soul. He exposes the evils of today's capitalism/profiteering and greed so well. Capitalism and profiteering is what ails societies around the world. The recent Wall Street meltdown and financial tsunami felt around the world are the symptoms of this disease. Many wars, over the centuries, have been fought for the control of resources and control over fellow human beings. Maybe some day, maybe, we will have a utopian society where all humans are treated as humans and equal and not as fodder to satisfy the evil and greedy.

I love this song which is played towards the end of the movie.

John McCain can get his Viagra now

"Fixes" to the healthcare bill have passed both the Senate and House of Representatives. Poor Repugs tried everything to amend the "Fixes" in the Senate to scuffle the bill. Senator Tom Coburn proposed an amendment to restrict the insurance of Viagra so it does not fall in the wrong hands – such as Rush Limbaugh, Tiger Woods, David Vitter, Mark Sanford etc. Damn Dems did not rise to the occasion and rejected the amendment. However, now John McCain is free to get his Viagra.

Why does Ezra Levant support Ann Coulter

Ann Coulter's chief promoter here in Canada is Ezra Levant. Why would he support Ann Coulter? Her hateful comments make her David Duke in a skirt. Among other things, she said that Jewish people "need to be perfected" in order to be Christains. Is this a position Ezra Levant - who has alleged anti-semitism at anyone who disagrees with him - support?

Ann Coulter: The Wicked Witch of the West

When George Galloway, British MP, wanted to speak in Canada the Harper Government banned his entry on the excuse that he was spreading hatred. All George Galloway was saying was that Palestinians should have human rights and that Israel was grossly violating their rights. The United Nations said similar things as did many world leaders. Galloway was preaching not hatred and did not say someone should be assasinated.

Ann Coulter did say that all Muslim Countries should be invaded and their leaders should be assasinated and their people should be converted to Christianity. Then at the University of Western Ontario she said Muslims must not be able to fly by airplanes and should use flying carpets. When a female Muslim student asked her that she does not have a carpet and how she should fly, Ann Coulter responded that she should use a camel to travel.

In the past she also declared that Jews need to be "perfected" by becoming Christians, and that America would be better off if everyone were Christian. Now all this is not hate speech? Where is Harper and company? Why are they not banning her entry to Canada? She is a poor excuse for a human being and the Harper government once again has shown its duplicity and plain stupidity to not ban entry to Canada to such a moron and wicked witch of the west as Ann Coulter.

US Healthcare Bill Passes the House of Representatives

It is a good beginning. But according to some observers insurance companies stand to benefit the most as 32 million people will be added to healthcare insurance under this bill and their cost will be paid by public money. Nonetheless they have to start somewhere. And someday, maybe someday, the US will have public healthcare with single payer, like Canada. After observing the games played by the US Congress our Parliamentary system looks much better.

Moreover, Regpugs can still kill the bill when it goes before the Senate. There is a smaller bill called "fixes" to the Senate bill which was sent to the House. Any change in this"fixes" bill may start a new storm, as any change will require House approval – Déjà vu all over again.

Even Ken Starr condemns Liz Cheney for her tactics in smearing the US Justice Department

Ken Starr is as conservative as they get, he’s the one who tried to finish off Bill Clinton’s Presidency. Yet even he condemns Liz Cheney’s tactics to smear the lawyers of the US Justice Department. What is with the Cheneys?

Liz Cheney’s father Dick Cheney started this one-trillion dollar war with Iraq which has resulted in murder and mayhem, and jeopardized World peace (after all, it was Cheney who was REALLY in charge in the Whitehouse). Now his daughter wants to bring back the McCarthyism of the 1950s.

It is good that even staunch conservatives and Republicans are calling her out on this. Ken Starr appeared on, of all the programs, MSNBC’s Countdown to express his views and to state how wrong Liz Cheney is.

Democracy in Iraq?

A big deal is being made in the US media and administration about the elections in Iraq. It is one of the worst hoaxes in human history including war crimes and crimes against humanity. Bush and Cheney carried out a blood bath and genocide in Iraq in the name of democracy.

Is it a democracy?
-Ask the relatives of the millions who were killed during Bush, Cheney and Rumsfeld's blood bath in Iraq for oil – oil which is now being shared by the US and its European partners.

Ask the millions who are refugees in neighbouring countries to escape the blood bath.

Ask those millions who are living in squalor with no running water, proper food or shelter, struggling to survive in Iraq.

A country was destroyed and its infrastructure was destroyed with the pretence of "democracy". Many were killed during the so-called recent elections because perpetual animosities have been created through this war of atrocity. It is a society in ruins and that is your modern democracy spread by Bush, Cheney, Rumsfeld and their co-conspirators. The current US administration has not fully acknowledged the atrocities of its predecessors and has done nothing to prosecute the perpetrators.

The story is not much different in Afghanistan. Unfortunately Canada has become party to that atrocity as news about torture is being uncovered and Harper and company are trying everything to push it under the rug. There is no democracy in Iraq and Afghanistan. It is a just one big sad and horrible hoax.

End of Times!

So wrote Dr. Dawg when he commented on my post "the Earth is Shaking". No kidding. Now a NASA scientist is saying that Chile's earthquake was so big (8.8 magnitude) that it may have changed the Earth's rotation and shortened the days. Okay the change is only 1.26 microseconds which is slightly more than 1 millionth of a second.

Is it possible that if these shakes continue that the Earth will fall out of its orbit some day and it will be the end of times as far as this planet is concerned? Okay don't worry if it did happen it will be a few millions years from now... I think. So still a lot of time to count.

You can click her to ead the story, "Chile earthquake may have shortened days."

In the meantime the news is not good from Chile. The death toll has reached close to 800 and it looks most of the deaths resulted from the Tsunami in coastal areas of Chile, aftermath of quake. It is indeed a big tragedy.

Harper's Damage to Democracy

This business of proroguing when there was an Afghan inquiry going on was a blatant attack on democracy and on the Parliamentary system. Where does Ignatieff stand on all of this? Every time he opens his mouth, he looks more and more like a Harper-clone or twin. It worries me where Canada is headed.

I came across a very good op-ed on this from the Toronto Star.
