Nicolas Sarkozy: Presidential Elections in France

Nicolas Sarkozy should have no problem winning. His girlfriend/wife in bikini should help as he thinks French don't like burqa/veil.

He was another of George W. Bush's poodle besides Tony Blair of Britain and Stephen Harper of Canada.

Nicolas Sarkozy and the two extremes

Sarkozy wants to ban the burqa in France. He thinks it is too repressive. Okay, maybe he has a point.

Then there is his wife Carla Bruni. She has bared it all and her nude photos are available all over the Internet. (It is my blog policy to not show completely nude photos, that is why I have covered it up appropriately) Is that not the other extreme? Okay, Ms. Bruni will say it is her body and she can do with it whatever she wishes including being nude. Give her that right. By the same token should not the Muslim women not be given their right to cover their bodies? This is their belief system and it is their right. It is not hurting anyone? Why not give them their freedom of expression? Why the double standard? Is this not repression by Sarkozy government if such legislation is implemented?

I will include Sarkozy's shenanigans as another one among human follies.

Burqini is hard on eyes in France

Nicolas Sarkozy has made it perfectly clear that he does not want women in burqa. He prefers them in the buff. That is why he is so madly in love with Carla Bruni who did pose nude for the world.

I was once on a beach where there were a lot of French families, I saw quite a few ladies in the buff. I will be untruthful if I didn't admit that I had the time of my life ;) I enjoyed this beach more than many others and I am a bit of a beachcomber.

But why can't we get along and respect each other's cultures. Now there is a big controversy over Burqini which covers the whole body except the face and a Muslim woman has been banned from a swimming pool in France because she must be in a regular swimsuit, preferably two piece. The excuse used is that the Burqini is unhygienic. Wow! Really? Can fabric material be infectious? A man or a woman can have a highly infectious disease on their private parts which can be easily covered by regular swimwear. Now are they going to require uncovering that too? So what is the big deal? People may have more germs and fungus on their feet than any other part. Because of these germs on the feet, the surrounding walking areas of pools are rampant with germs and people can easily get fungi disease between their toes. What happened to hygienic there? It is baloney.

What is the difference between a man who forces a woman to undress compared to the one who forces a woman to completely cover-up? In the case of this swimming pool a big scary man was interviewed who wanted a Muslim woman to uncover herself by wearing a traditional French swimsuit – a skimpy two-piece. Don't the women have their opinion too. Why not let them decide? If someone's belief calls for covering up then leave that person alone. Hypocrisy knows no boundaries and is indeed universal.

Nicolas Sarkozy and Burqa

What is with this guy? Why does he consider himself such an authority on religion and women.

When it comes to religion, I don't know who is right or wrong. However I will tell you a little story. When I started university, there was a girl who wore a short short skirt and a short top. One could see her pubic hair. It was hard on us boys ;) I believe there is a reasonable middle ground where men and women show some modesty and cover themselves properly in public places.

As far as Sarkozy is concerned, he should be given a burqa to hide his face after making so many gaffes. He should leave religion alone.

Carla Bruni and Nicolas Sarkozy: Peter MacKay Seeking NATO Help

Will Sarkozy, President of France, provide troops for Afghanistan? He has his own pre-occupations... he is totally submerged in the love of his new wife, Carla Bruni.
