I must admit that the events unfolding in Tunisia, Egypt, Libya, Bahrain, and other Middle Eastern countries, and now the natural disasters in Japan, is making me lose my sense of humour from all this tragedy.

Neo-Cons gone Crazy

What's up with neo-cons? They love to denigrate people. It is disheartening to read how they denigrated Ted Kennedy. They are going after anyone living or dead such as Obama, Kennedy and now going after some news commentators. Are they forgetting about conservative news commentators such as Bill O'Reilly, Glenn Beck and the like who make fools of themselves all the time? Now they are going after Keith Olbermann of MSNBC.

Here is the latest attack on him.

Birthers, teabaggers, KKK. Simply too many crazies on the right. Healthcare reform is needed all the more to take care of these mental cases.

Walter Cronkite Gone: What Next?

Walter Cronkite was one of the greatest journalists and opinion-leaders of the twentieth century. MSNBC reported that when, in the late 1960s, Cronkite gave his assessment of the Vietnam War, Lyndon Johnson felt his political fortunes erode. Johnson is known to have said that he could not afford to have Cronkite go against him.

It is that kind of influence that Walter Cronkite had on leaders and the public because he was not afraid to speak the truth.

Now what kind of reporters and opinion-leaders do we have in the 21st century? Bill O'Reilly, Sean Hannity who has no sanity, Rush Limbaugh, and Glenn Beck. I wish my American friends good luck.

Bill O’Reilly: A jackass who is missing two legs

It is hard for him, you know, to have two front legs missing. Birth defect. But he manages to prove all the time that he is a jackass nonetheless even if he has nothing to stand on.

Here O'Reilly tries to prove that the only way to deal with substance addicts is to put them in jail. If you follow his prescription then a large proportion of Americans (and people elsewhere as well) will be in jail. There will be very little housing problems that's for sure. In his mind there is no such thing as rehabilitation. He may be right, he cannot be rehabilitated.

Bill O’Reilly: the Zoo Creature of Faux News

Talking about bonkers, this O'Reilly guy of Faux News is a jackass. He was talking about the security at the inauguration of President-elect Obama and that it may scare some people away, then he barked out "it is a zoo, no thank you I have been to enough zoos." (Not an exact quote but primarily that is what he said). I do not think it is the security which was bothering him, he seemed to be pissed that a black guy was going to be sworn in as a President.

Then he was interviewing Al Sharpton of the NAACP and got little upset with him. He told him that they (blacks) should stop complaining about discrimination as one of them was now going to be President. He also said that Bush was a great president and that Al Sharpton was being too unkind to him. He added that Al Sharpton must be thankful for the achievements of Bush including his great contributions to the well-being of "coloured people" in the US and Africa. He added that Bush did more for Africa and "coloured people" in general than any other President in the history of the United States. "Coloured people?" Would you not include Iraqis and Afghanis amongst "coloured people" – yes Bush killed over a hundred thousand of them and made millions homeless in their own countries or refugees in neighbouring countries. And of course using the term "coloured people", does not O'Reilly realize that its 2009 now?

Maybe Bush should ask O'Reilly to write his Bio. O'Reilly confirmed his image of being a complete jackass.
