AECL: Harper Government Sells to SNC-Lavalin

The gist of the story is that the seller – the Government of Canada – will pay $75 million to SNC-Lavalin for some new initiatives, and the buyer will write a cheque for only $15 million to buy AECL. That’s a great deal, eh.

It does not end there. The seller – the Government of Canada – and hence the taxpayers of Canada will also undertake all the current liabilities which can amount to anywhere from $3 billion to $4 billion. Moreover, Ontario may lose close to 800 AECL jobs, and more jobs will be lost overall.

Cheers to the chief salesman Mr. Harper, what will he sell next? Maybe Parliament buildings? And for what price? He will give you $100 million and then you can pay $20 million to buy the building. All the maintenance costs will be borne by the seller, which is the Harper government through the taxpayers of Canada. Where else in the world can you ask for a deal like that?

Princess Beatrice pays a stylist $2,400 per day to be dressed

She is the daughter of Prince Andrew and Sarah Ferguson. I have nothing against the Royal Family as such, but this is absolutely ridiculous. She's a grown woman, can't she dress herself and donate the rest to a charity? $2,400 would pay for a poor family in a developing country for one year of food, with some left over.

Sooner we start thinking as a global village, the better it will be.

Richard Engel: End the War on Terror

I have extraordinary respect for this reporter, he has covered all the current wars from Afghanistan to Iraq to Libya as well as the Arab spring in Tunisia, Egypt, and Bahrain. He has been right in the middle of the action many times, and put his life on the line to give the true picture of what is going on.

In one incident in Libya, he ended up in the direct line of fire from Gaddafi’s forces. He just happened to be lucky to survive that attack. If anybody understands the current wars and instability in the Middle East and North Africa – and views them with an objective eye – it's Richard Engel. He has always been a very objective reporter, and now he is saying that it is time to end the war on terror, that these wars are taking us nowhere.

I firmly believe that Obama and other NATO leaders must pay attention to experts like Richard Engel.

Asbestos has not been used in Canada for the last 25 years and the buildings which already had asbestos proceeded to remove it because it is an established fact that it is a very dangerous substance to human health. However, the Harper government and asbestos companies are saying it is safe and it is being exported to poor countries like India,Indonesia and the Philippines. Keith Olbermann’s show Countdown started yesterday, June 20th , 2011 on the Current T.V. Here is an interesting interview with Michael Moore. Moore thinks that Obama should get the permission of Congress to continue intervention in Libya and Congress must speak up on this issue. Maybe Obama got emboldened by successfully raiding and killing Bin Laden and considers himself invincible now. That kind of attitude will hurt him in the long run and may cause problems for him to win his second term.

Baboon and Bush Baby Bonding: Wonders of Nature

Nature has programmed or put software in all living beings for survival. If two humans share backgrounds they tend to bond and same goes for animals in many cases.
In this case a baboon was abandoned by its parents and so was a bush baby in Kenya. Now these are two totally different species but in zoo they needed to form a strong bond to console each other.

"This is a situation where two individuals are basically in need of each other because they need the bond to survive in the absence of their parents and their grouping. Therefore when both find themselves in such a situation they tend to bond and make friendships,"

Huma Abedin, Anthony Weiner’s wife

It’s interesting to find out that Anthony Weiner’s wife is a practicing Muslim who grew up in Saudi Arabia. She is a brilliant woman, who rose from the ranks to become an advisor to Senator Hillary Clinton; she now advises Hillary Clinton as Secretary of State. When you read about her, you’re absolutely amazed and impressed with the personality and character of this wonderful lady. A moron like Anthony Weiner did not deserve her.

It is perplexing as to what the hell this Weiner guy was thinking about. It now turns out that he was carrying out sexting with over twenty women. According to some sources one girl was only sixteen years old, she was warned and Weiner was warned at the same time; only then did he back off. This man is really giving a bad name to the Democratic Party. I believe he has no choice but to resign and repent for his behaviour the rest of his life.

I feel sorry for his wife as well as numerous young girls that Weiner lured.

Stephen Harper choked?

Some hackers managed to break into Conservative Party site and left a press-release about Harper’s choking.

““The fake news release said Harper choked on a hash brown while eating breakfast with his kids, "blocking air from reaching his lungs," and that his wife, Laureen, called 911. It said a member of his security team administered first aid and that the prime minister was airlifted to a hospital in Toronto.
"Due to the nature of the incident, we are cautiously assuming the Prime minister will completely recover within the next few days. From the looks of things, Harper will miss many of his planned meetings over the next few days," the fake news release said.””

This hacking business is becoming pretty treacherous. First it was government documents stolen and now this. Technology is moving much faster than our ability to cope with it. It is good to know that PM is ok.

Throne Speech: “STOP HARPER”

Brigette DePape delivered the best line of the throne speech. She showed extraordinary courage to point out the problems of Canada. Harper is the problem if he is only motivated with neo-con ideology to govern. Brigette DePape earns my admiration.

Harper may enjoy his majority but he must never forget that over 60% voters voted against him. If he wants to be PM of the whole of Canada then he must keep those 60% in mind.
