The good news is that Alexandre Bilodeau of Quebec has won Canada's first Olympic gold medal ever on Canadian soil. Something to celebrate.
Bad news is that Parliament remains prorogued. Harper solution to win is to shut out the competition as he did it in December 2008 when the coalition was looming over his government – prorogue the Parliament. In December 2009 the Afghan torture inquiry was going on and it did not look good for the government. Again prorogue the Parliament against the wishes of majority of MPs and Canadians.
He does that in order to continue to occupy 24 Sussex Drive as his power is not prorogued to govern the country. It is about time that Canadians prorogue the Harper government as he has total disdain for democracy and for Parliament.
