Michael Ignatieff the Count

Count Dracula to be exact. This guy scares the hell out of me. You never know what his positions are on different issues or positions he is going to take. It all depends on who was last with him. This man is out of touch with reality, Canada, and Canadians, as is Stephen Harper. Their heroes are U.S neo-cons. Maybe Iggy should take his talent somewhere else and he and his chums should release the hostage called the Liberal Party.

His position is easy - it's ALL of them at the same time.

  2. You know what they say about prostitutes. After you pay them they will take any position you want them to.

Certain politicians are getting there. After you promise them so many votes they will take any position you want them to.

  3. LeDaro. They don't like you saying things about this guy.
You will be ignored. Told to lay off or be gentle with the gent.

  4. Oemissions, who is they?

If you mean current Liberals then it means nothing to me.

  5. You got it right.
Most of the Liberals can't or won't say anything about Mr.Ignatieff's dilly dallying pontifications.
I thouht that you were a progressive Liberal. If not, which party's candidate will you vote for in the next election, or... is party affiliation important to you?

  6. My affiliation is with liberal principles. I do not give diddly nothing to current leader or his chums. They have this Liblogs where certain buffoon tried to control thoughts. Why would I affiliate with anything like that?

My approach is screw them. My position towards current Libs is the same as Danny Williams has towards Cons -ABC (anyone but cons) Same here for Iggy. Anyone but Iggy.

LeDaro, Does that mean you would vote for Harper & the Cons? Just curious.

  8. Harper - ABC

I have not decided but it won't be for Libs or Cons along with my friends and family. Unless Iggy apologizes for his follies including on Tar Sands which he considers great asset for the whole Canada. Oh yes, on Gaza where hundreds of innocent women and children were slaughtered. Can anyone with any conscience vote for Iggy given his current positions. How can any human being support a leader who expressed no objections to slaughter of women and children? Please give me a break.

  9. Oemissions and Penlan I am dismayed by your questions. I thought you were progressive ladies. Why would a political party take precedence over simple moral principles?

  10. LeDaro. I have similar thoughts and feelings about Michael Ignatieff as you do. I am just not as forthright as are u.
Although, I was angry. I was angry about his voting against the GE label. I was not happy with his appointment and the way they ousted Stephan. The silence on Afghanistan and then no outrage about the Tarsands. He has not developed a respect that I need for the spokes person of the party I voted for last time. But then, that was the first time I voted for a party of the old boys club. I am a green person and sometimes orange.
    I hear you.
    I appreciate your posts.
I just wondered how you would vote if there was an election right now.
I live in BC. We will have an election in less than a month. I have to vote for the NDP.
In the next federal election, I would only vote for a Liberal if I believe he/she would represent my constituency and values and policies that we see mutually on, even if it went against what the leader was saying. We had a good former Green Party person here who ran in the election for the Libs and lost to a Conservative by 2500 votes.
I am not looking for a rock star leader, a guru or someone with great charisma as the Federal leader. Just represent the policies decided by the members.
We are into participatory democracy that uses current technology. I participated in the En Famille. There were good resolutions put forth. There were concerned and compassionate opinions.None of them came from the upper echelons of the party.
Why, I don't know for sure, other than to think that they can't be bothered participating in a grassroots forum. So, up there's,eh!
This is not about games to get votes. This is about LIVES, the PLANET and democratic discussion.
Common communication based on experience and sharing of information. If those fellas in so called positions of power can't play this game, then they need to step out of the way.The same with MPs who don't meet with their constituents to get a general consensus of opinion. What kind of democracy is that?

  11. "This is not about games to get votes. This is about LIVES, the PLANET.." Oemissions, I agree with you.
Also an individual MP cannot do much if the leader sucks. The Nova Scotia MP Bill Casey is a good example. He was kicked out of Cons caucus because he did not agree with Harpo.

I am also very unhappy the way Stephane Dion was treated by Iggy and chums.

To me moral values and principles come first and so-called leaders and political parties do not.

Last time I voted for the BQ.
The choice was easier than expected.

I'd love to see my riding go to the Liberals BUT they keep fucking it up badly.
The first time, they put in Garneau and gave him no support. The poor hapless soul was practically begging for votes at the train station. Then he got all indignant at losing - so Fuck you Marc Garneau (and your party).

Then we had Fortier try to run here - he was the favourite and dolled out the pork before the campaign. He did everything underhanded, got cosy with the mayors and such...
What do the Liberals do? Appoint Brigitte Legault - my god was a useless tit she was. You'd think that someone with strong Liberal ties (even getting Paul Martin to stump for her) would help...

She was trounced, and so was Fortier.

So what did Iggy do with Brigitte Legault? Make her President Francophone for the LPC Executive....
If she were not so clueless it would be risible....

  13. If I lived in Quebec I would want to vote for the BQ as well. I've said it before: that if the Bloc was across the country I would vote for them - but they aren't. I do not want to see Quebec separate from Canada. That is the only thing with the Bloc I don't like.

    LeDaro,

I have supported you on many fronts & agree with you on most things. Please don't take offense at me for asking you a simple question. It wasn't a trick one & I was just curious, as you weren't clear to me on that.

  14. Penlan, you should exactly know how I feel about Harper if you have been reading my blog. Therefore the question was very unfair.

I even supported Iggy through a post when he was first annointed as a leader. After his despicable positions on many issues he turned me right off. Now Iggy or Harper one and the same thing.

CWTF, I must admit I had to look up for the meaning of "risible". Man you use difficult words. Also you're prime candidate for "F" word competition ;)

I agree with you on Iggy. The man is a dead loss.

  15. Sorry that you took my simple question as being "unfair" to you LeDaro. I shan't bother you anymore.

  16. Penlan, I appreciate your comments and support in the past. But to support a political party unconditionaly? Nope. Not now, never. People of counteries who supported a certain political party and certain person for a leader, no matter how screwed up that leader was, paid very heavy price. Russia and Germany come to mind.
