First off, two more Canadian soldiers have been killed in Afghanistan bringing the total since Friday to three and the overall total to 106. What for? To please the Grim Reaper George W. Bush?
I do not know how history will judge Bush. His presidency has been that of mayhem and murder around the world. Millions of people have been killed or displaced in Iraq and Afghanistan. Over 4000 US soldiers killed as well as soldiers from other partners in the alliance. What have we achieved so far? More chaos in these two countries and turmoil in the whole of South East Asia and the Middle East.
The Middle East is a much bigger powder keg today than when Bush took office. It has strengthened Iran and its influence on Iraq. Al-Qaeda has established permanent bases in Iraq. As well, serious conflict has evolved between Sunnis, Shiites and the Kurds of Iraq which has all the makings of a lasting civil war. More murder and mayhem. The situation between Israel and Arab nations has reached a boiling point and is another major powder keg for the world. The recent air strikes by Israel of Gaza and the killing of hundreds of Palestinians does not resolve the issue but escalates the conflict. At least Jimmy Carter and Bill Clinton tried to resolve the conflict during their Presidencies, but then along came Bush Jr. who has only inflamed the situation. The geo-political situation is in turmoil. The US economy is in recession and most probably headed for depression and taking the whole world with it. George W. Bush has truly been a grim reaper for his own country and rest of the world.
In Canada we have to put an end to the blind following of Bush policy by Stephen Harper otherwise we are headed for a bigger disaster.
The Libs need to invest in a media campaign to educate Canadian voters about Harper's blind allegiance to Bush. Get disciplined with talking points that show a unified, strong and coherent message pairing Harper with th chimp and explaining to Canadians what a human disaster these two have brought to the world.
