You seem to have forgotten 1 important point. Bush (and I'm no fan of his) didn't sanction the Dixie Chicks. The AMERICAN PEOPLE stopped buying their records. It's call freedom of choice. But the Liberals seem to blame Bush and the Americans for everything so I guess your point of view is not new.
It is the big business who seem to be sanctioning Dixie Chicks and big business usually supports Republican agenda. You are right that it is not Bush directly but those who do business with government ensure sometimes that establishment is protected. Now NBC is blocking Dixie Chicks's commercials and one wonders why. I think LeDaro is making that point. Other than that your point has merit.
Big business had nothing to do with the demise of the Dixie Chicks. The people stopped buying their records. Maybe NBC is blocking commercials now, but the Dixie Chicks downhill spiral started immediately after that remark about Bush. All their concerts were heavily advertised in the U.S. but many were cancelled due to weak ticket sales. This had nothing to do with big business.
Did Bush not personally express his displeasure and made statements to that effect. Will that not be an attempt to shut Dixie Chicks up?
