The first time my husband ever saw George W. Bush he exclaimed that he looked like Charlie McCarthy, ventriloquist Edgar Bergen's dummy. I saw this morning, on CTV, I believe, a report on attack ads now being aired in the US. One attacks a politician as being immoral because there is a buck and cents charge to a sex line. This was a wrong number, a misdial, but the ad attacks the reputation of the politician brutally... reminds me of the Dinger and the Cons. So, in my opinion, you have it wrong. Bush is the puppet (the patsy...) and it is the ideologues behind him who are pulling the strings!
