Water on Earth from Asteroids and Comets
Last night I watched a documentary on the CBC. The documentary pointed out that life on earth could be wiped out by one big asteroid hitting our planet. However, it was the asteroids and comets that brought water to the earth.
In the past scientists thought that water already existed deep inside the earth in the form of steam and that steam escaped as the earth cooled and, ultimately, that steam took the form of water.
Watching this documentary one gets the impression that the earth was built methodically over billions of years. However, it does not answer the question as to whether the universe and life which exists today is a result of a big bang or a creator methodically creating it over trillions of years. For me, it is all a mystery. Recommend this post

ReplyDeleteAnd I think, LeDaro, that is the only intellectually honest perspective we can hold.
Lorne, thank you.
ReplyDeleteFanatics exist on both sides, religion and science.
Even after centuries human knowledge about life and universe is at a preliminary stage.
