Adolph Hitler: Looks can be deceiving

In the following video Hitler looks like a harmless person. He is respectful towards his colleagues, respectful towards women and loves children. He also loves his pet dog. He looks like a normal family man.

Then look at his misdeeds- champion of Aryan nation, responsible for the holocaust and death of 6 million Jews and millions of other minorities. Millions more suffered in his concentration camps. Why don’t we humans learn from our past? Instead of seeking peace all major nations in the world are busy developing more and more lethal weapons.

  1. In his poem, 'There will be Peace' .. David Roberts wrote a key reminder for us all .. "There will be peace: when enemies become fellow human beings."

    I agree with him. When we reduce ememies or opponents to a status that is less than equal with 'my' side, then horrible things can happen.

    The Nazis vilified the Jews for years before the policy of extermination. In Rwanda, the Hutu people referred to the Tutsi as 'cockroaches' and thereafter began to slaughter them.

    vilification of your enemy can go far, too far. (Here's Robert's whole poem) ...

    There will be peace:

    when attitudes change;
    when self-interest is seen as part of common interest;
    when old wrongs, old scores, old mistakes
    are deleted from the account;
    when the aim becomes co-operation and mutual benefit
    rather than revenge or seizing maximum personal or group gain;
    when justice and equality before the law
    become the basis of government;
    when basic freedoms exist;
    when leaders - political, religious, educational - and the police and media
    wholeheartedly embrace the concepts of justice, equality, freedom, tolerance, and reconciliation as a basis for renewal;
    when parents teach their children new ways to think about people.
    There will be peace:
    when enemies become fellow human beings.

  2. LG, thanks for the great comment.

    Great poem by David Roberts. But humans will never learn and carnage of each other will continue.
