I did a search on your blog and found no word about Syria. Everyday over the past year in Syria 150 women and children are being murdered in cold blood using knives. I was always curious why people are so quick to defend the Palestinians who democratically elected a terrorist organization but are just indifferent to what's happening in Syria. Double standards?
Morris Kast, let me make it clear that I am against dictatorship and what is happening in Syria. It is all over Western Media that how atrocious Syria is.
However, when Israel kills routinely Palestinians, Lebanese and Syrians then Western media is silent on the atrocities of Israel. Israel has killed by the thousands its neighbours over the years but all the Western media says is that Israel is doing this in self-defence and it has every right to do that. That is what is bewildering. Even fair-minded Israelis are against this massacre. I believe in the existence of Israel but its brutal policies are endangering the safety of its own people. There must be a fair two state solution.
Only Yitzhak Rabin wanted resolution and he was murdered by an Israeli. Rabin won the Nobel Peace Prize in 1994 and in 1995 he was murdered. There is a fanatic section in Israel who wants to wipe out Palestinians
Gilad Sharon, son of Ariel Sharon, said.
“We need to flatten entire neighborhoods in Gaza. Flatten all of Gaza. The Americans didn’t stop with Hiroshima – the Japanese weren’t surrendering fast enough, so they hit Nagasaki, too.” That about sums up the views of the fanatic Israelis.
Hi LeDaro, yes, there are fanatics in Israel, but they are the minority. I
There is no massacare going in Gaza. You should indeed look up Dresden, or Hiroshima for that. There have been less casualties over there since the operation started than a single day in Syria.
What is going on is Gaza is Israel targeting rocket launching sites and other Hamas infrastructure. Hamas is firing rockets from school, soccer stadiums and hospitals. They are hiding behind women and children, so essentially they put their own children in risk.
There is a big difference between the sides here. Innocent Palestinian are not the target of the Israeli army. This is unfortunately war casualties which we try to minimize the number of. The rockets that Hamas is firing at Israel *are* targeted at population centers. There are hundreds of these rockets thrown everyday. That is what is bewildering. It is an ongoing war crime that you do not cover enough. And this is what provoked Israel to start this operation.
I am curious to hear how you would stop the Gaza people from firing rockets at your city? In 2005, Israel left Gaza and gave 100% of it to the Palestinians. 10 days after that those rockets started...
