Stephen Harper’s concept of education
Build more prisons. He must have heard that prisons are universities for criminals. If young people with a minor crime are imprisoned for a fair length of time, they learn from the hardened criminals how to commit more crimes. Punishment and vindictiveness do not reduce crimes. They increase them.
Rehabilitation is more effective for the young who are imprisoned for minor infractions. However, Harper wants to build more prisons and incarcerate more people and then privatize prisons so that they become profit-making operations. It is a dangerous road to travel on.
The 61% of the Canadians who did not vote for this ego-megalomaniac, Stephen Harper, must speak up. His hidden agenda is no longer hidden. Recommend this post
