There have been a lot of protests against The Oil Sands in US including some celebrities like Daryl Hannah who were arrested in front of the Whitehouse; however, Canadians are silent on the issue. Has Harper successfully silenced opposition to Tar Sands through his mantra of economy comes first and then we will deal with the environment?

Who opposes the Tar Sands? The Libs or, perhaps, the NDP? None of them is prepared to stand up and denounce the Bitumen Bog as the very worst fossil fuel to exploit at a time of dangerous carbon emissions levels. Those bastards haven't got the guts to stand up for the world and future generations of Canadians. Both sides of the aisle in the House of Commons are full of Petro-Pols. ReplyDeleteOur political system needs to be reformed as Harper won sizable majority with only less than 40% votes. Moreover, I agree that federal political leaders are generally very anemic on environment.
