  2. Well the Americans conquered Iraq with the intention of completely reforming the Middle East. That they did, just not the way they intended. By occupying Iraq and Afghanistan they thought they had Iran bracketed, contained. If Washington hadn't screwed up both occupations that objective might have been possible. Instead they spent a couple of trillion dollars and wasted hundreds of thousands of lives to cement Iran's regional supremacy. That should be enough to guarantee they'll bomb the hell out of Iran at some point.

  3. Mound, right on. However, it looks Iran is set to get its own nukes and there is not much anyone can do about it according to a story I read, I believe, on Huffington Post. Iran cannot ask for a better friend than US which helped it gain the regional supremacy.
