Gordon Brown Gaffe?

I am not a fan of Gordon Brown, especially when his predecessor Tony Blair took the Labour Party of Britain and turned it into a Thatcherite party. Then of course Blair became the famous poodle of George W. Bush and ultimately resigned because the poodle was not as popular with the Labour Party as he was with George W. Bush.

I am not sure how much Gordon Brown has succeeded to take Labour Party back to its roots of being a people's party. However, he refused to be Bush's poodle.

As the above video shows, he called this woman a "bigot". Maybe he should have said that right on her face and gotten over with it instead of back in his car and then not knowing the microphone was on. Why there is such a big deal? He apologized later on a radio show, and then he called Gillian Duffy herself to apologize. Was that not enough? Then he went to her home and had a 40 minute meeting with her. Is he not overdoing it? On and on it goes.

Politicians do make gaffes, why in his case it has become such a big deal. Remember Reagan said he has declared war on Russia and bombing will start in 10 minutes not knowing that the microphone was on. He did not lose the election over that. However, the Labour Party is not currently that popular in Britain and it was losing anyway. Up and coming star it looks is the leader of the Liberal Democrat Party, Nick Clegg. It is going to be an interesting election.
