Dreams of Gaza

I will start this post with a song called "Imagine" from my favourite singer John Lennon which relates to Gaza/Israel.

Imagine, song by john Lenon about Palestine and Israel

A fellow blogger "Gene" warned me that reading about Gaza could become quite self-absorbing and can take a lot of one's energies. He is quite right. After reading plenty of material, seeing the pictures of destrution in Gaza, dead women, children and residents in general, it is hard to get those images out of my mind.

I even seem to dream about it now, though you could say these dreams are more nightmares. In my dream, I saw a little child with a glass of very muddied water. I took the glass and spilled the water in order to give him fresh water. He started crying uncontrollaby. I said why are you crying little one. He said that was the only water he had and I spilled it. I woke up after that. It is horrible what is happening in Gaza. It is an apartheid of the worst kind. I will be writing about apartheid in a later post.

Here is another video about destrution in Gaza:

A Genocide is taking place in Gaza!

I do not understand what is wrong with the Israeli government. It is clear that they are conscience dead. Is it possible that they are brain-dead too? How long will they hide all this from the world. What is being done in Gaza are indeed crimes against humanity and war crimes.

  2. So, LeDaro, if Israel just happened to completely cease hostilities, and Hamas continued to shoot rockets into Israel, and kill and torture their own people.. well, what then?

  3. Gene, thanks for the kind words and the link. No nation, society or group of people have succeeded to subjugate another nation, society or group of people indefinitely. So there is always hope.

Roblaw, you have not been following my blog. Up to January of this year I believed that Hamas was provoking these attacks. Then I started reading more and found out that provocation was always by Israel. I am talking about Western sources who visited the area as journalists and diplomats. Palestinians are a punching bag for Israeli government. Whenever little trouble internally divert attention by bombing Gaza or West Bank using one excuse or another.

  4. Well, there is still concern, it has not gone away. Read what Alive Walker has to say at Pink Tank.

    Lebanon rockets wound Israelis

A rocket fired from Lebanon has landed in northern Israel, wounding three people and prompting Israel to respond with an artillery barrage, the Israeli army said.

A Lebanese security source said, however, that two rockets had been fired at Israel from near the city of Tyre on Saturday, and that Israel had responded by firing at least six shells into southern Lebanon.

The Lebanese army said it found two wooden rocket launchers in the Qleileh-Mansouri area, south of Tyre.

There was no immediate claim of responsibility by any group in Lebanon, while the Israeli army confirmed it had responded to the rocket fire with an artillery barrage.

Al Jazeera's Rula Amin, monitoring developments from Beirut, said it was the third time rockets had been fired from Lebanon into Israel since the military assault on the Gaza Strip.

She said officials of Hezbollah, the Lebanese group, had told her that they did not need to issue a denial "because when they do something they usually claim responsibility".

Hezbollah and Israel fought a war in the summer of 2006.

Fouad Siniora, the Lebanese prime minister, in a statement described the Israeli shelling as an inexcusable breach of Lebanon's sovereignty.

He reaffirmed Lebanon's commitment to the UN Security Council resolution 1701, saying the attack was a threat to the country's security and stability and a breach of the resolution.
