It is good to see the Liberal Party of Canada listed on the LiberalsOnline aggregate. Maybe there is still hope for a progressive Liberal Party. Maybe as well Michael Ignatieff will realize his international blunder for supporting the Israeli Defence Force's slaughter in Gaza. Maybe there is still hope. If Ignatieff shows real liberalism and progressiveness, then there is a hope for Canada. Look what alternative we have – Stephen Harper. Canada does not need two Conservative parties, which is where I fear Ignatieff has wanted to take the party.
The Liberal Party may also consider removing the tumour of Liblogs from their side. Maybe good Liberal bloggers will consider to leave this so-called "Lib"-logs. Then the administrative board of this aggregate is free to change its name to something more suitable to their policies. Maybe "Ezra Levant and Cheerleaders" or "Lechlogs" (the latter an abbreviation of Levant and Cheerleaders).
The Liberal Party of Canada has nothing to do with the operation and day-to-day running of Liblogs, Le Daro.. so it can't remove it from its side, when it's not in it's side to remove from.
ReplyDeleteSome of us believe we can be on both Liberal aggregators and not have a problem doing so. Consider that as well.
We all know some bloggers have a problem with Liblogs and how it's run, which is why there is a Liberals Online aggregator. I hope we're not going to have blogposts every week attacking Liblogs, Le Daro.. because I see that as being counter productive.

While he I don't deny the work he did for Liblogs in the past, he was able to wipe out much goodwill by his actions there.
Do you really think there is a chinese wall between the Liberal party and Liblogs?

ReplyDeleteI appreciate where you're coming from - this disunity has not been good for the Liberal Party's image. Nonetheless, it was Cherniak who precipitated this split and his stewardship of Liblogs is a problem as he's proven an embarassment to Liberals both now and in the past.
Also, remember when the owner of the NDP blog aggregate got in trouble for anti-semetic statements. The NDP issued a statement and immediately distanced themselves from that blogger and the aggregate.
Why can't the Liberals do the same with Cherniak and Liblogs, make it clear that Cherniak does not speak for them nor does he represent them in any way.
And LeDaro, keep up the good work!
One more thing, I was especially appalled when Cherniak tried to play Thought Police by posting his biased views on the top of Liblogs.

ReplyDeleteLet me assure you that I am not vindictive person but James Curran, MoS and others, who disagreed with Cherniak, were badly treated and Cherniak’s actions ask for protest. On the top of it all the whole fiasco of Liblog has hurt Liberal Party and it begs for some commentary at times.
LeDaro - there comes a time to move on. Daily rants about Liblogs or Cherniak are just so over now. The poeple that wanted to leave left and those who don't want to read Liblogs won't.

About oppressors, etc. - I've not tried to oppress anyone but we do have a problem here with some obsessors. Don't accuse me of something I haven't done. And don't presume that you are the only one with all knowledge and all compassion in this world - ranting doesn't solve the problem.
