I find it very distressing when I watch news and see women and children being killed by our soldiers. Of course we are losing our youngmen and women which is sad too. I agree with Jack Layton that we must get out. Our mission is nothing more than sucking up to Bush.
I hope everyone takes note of this post the next time they say "Of course everyone supports our troops."
This goes beyond the usual party cheerleading - this is both stupid and disgusting. Think about what you're saying for a moment; do you honestly think that Stephen Harper or any Canadian politician actively seek the deaths of Afghan civilians?
Whether they are actively seeking or not it is happening. Only yesterday a young man was shot dead and his younger brother was critically injured. There were families, as a whole, killed which caused demonstrations and demonstrators said "death to Canada". Will there be any clearer message?
We have no business being there other than supporting George Bush. Bush practically abandoned Afghanistan and went after oil in Iraq. We are the patsies now fighting his war. In the meantime Karzai is talking to Taliban and inviting them into the government. I do not know how long puppet Karzai government will support our mission if you can call it a mission.
Finally I do not expect anything different from Harper toadies like you.
This is despicable...I think you need to do some research on the Afghan Mission and the Liberal Party's position on it.
