Ayatollahs of Iran are already upset that, “women who dress “inappropriately” incite extramarital sex that in turn cause more earthquakes”. Twitter and wonders of nature
However, before there was a telephone, Internet and twitter there were these pigeons - the messengers. I read somewhere that they were used extensively for this purpose in the olden days. Even some people use them to this day, in rural areas, in developing countries just for fun. Pigeons were and are nature's telephone, Internet and twitter. They exactly knew/know where they were/are supposed to deliver a message and where to return. Everyday I live in absolute bewilderment about the wonders of nature. Human Brain and Computers
This subject matter has been intriguing me for a quite a while. Don't worry, as I won't go into technical or philosophical stuff. Yes I have read books by a brain surgeon, books by psychiatrists and psychologists but I will set all that aside and talk about something different.
If on your computer in the left corner you click on Start and then All Programs you will see dozens and dozens of programs which are there but you never used them or very rarely used them. The human brain is somewhat similar but manifolds more complex and we use very limited "programs" available to us in that grey matter. It also depends on a person's up-bringing and how different brains are developed differently. Also every brain differs physically and in its content of knowledge. Computers have many chips and software in it consisting of various programs. Is it possible that there is a chip (using computer language to make it simple) which is related to spiritual programs and only a few once in a while click on it and have spiritual experiences? How do you click on it. I don't know. Maybe Mother Teresa knew as she found spiritualism by helping the poor and downtrodden in India. Those are experiences which quite often cannot be explained in human terms or language. Others who do not understand it just reject them off-hand and make light of them. I am not an expert on spirituality but trying to understand it.
We all have some very unusual experiences which no science can explain. I have my share of it and it left me in complete bewilderment. Let's say you have a relative and you think that you can never survive if something happens to that relative. You love that relative dearly. Unfortunately it does happen and one loses that relative and then an unusual and unexplained calm prevails which allows a person to keep on living. It happened to me and this is just one example. In other words is it possible that that spiritualism and the soul are there but we have just not clicked on that program yet and quite often unknowingly. And it does not lend itself to an easy clicking as we do on computers.
On your computer if you disable certain programs and then at some point in time download an update and try to upgrade it and it does not happen because it was disabled. Is spiritualism a similar kind of program in the brain that some of us disable it? And when we meet a very spiritual person he/she has no impact on us, as our spiritual base is not there. Finally when I am talking about spiritualism I am not talking about any particular religion but inherent spiritual ability of humans indifferent to their colour, creed or gender. Also I am not talking about spirituality of the likes of Sarah Palin, Rush Limbaugh or Glenn Beck as they have clicked on a junk file in their brain and not necessarily spiritual file. When I am talking about spiritualism I am talking about something real and pure and not specific to any biased religious views.
My discussion about spiritualism is something to think about and by all means tell me about your experiences if you feel up to it.

George W. Bush: The demented man Part 2
Let us start with his dementedness and some of the things Bush said. I mean a Republican plant Alvin Greene of South Carolina, so-called Democratic Candidate for Senate and mentally challenged, has not said as dumb things as this man. Bush would not have been hired as a bus boy in a hotel had it not been for his privileged background. Here are some of his whoppers.
"Our enemies are innovative and resourceful, and so are we. They never stop thinking about new ways to harm our country and our people, and neither do we." - Washington, D.C., Aug. 5, 2004 - He is right. He did harm US and its reputation around the world.
"I hear there's rumors on the Internets that we're going to have a draft." - second presidential debate, St. Louis, Mo., Oct. 8, 2004 - His brain was blown away by such a draft.
"I know the human being and fish can coexist peacefully." - Saginaw, Mich., Sept. 29, 2000 - BP proved him wrong there.
"You work three jobs? ...Uniquely American, isn't it? I mean, that is fantastic that you're doing that." - to a divorced mother of three, Omaha, Nebraska, Feb. 4, 2005 - George Bush Sr. should have cracked the cocoon around Dubya a little tad growing up so that he would have understood a little bit about the real world.
Many American think that George W. Bush is a criminal who committed crimes against humanity and that he must be taken to the Hague and put on trial. He should be taken along with his God Dick Cheney, Donald Rumsfeld and the rest of the mob who initiated and participated in these crimes. Similar crimes were committed in Afghanistan and unfortunately there is no end in sight for atrocities there and in Iraq. Barack Obama must smarten up otherwise he will become another chapter in the book as Bush being the worst president US ever had. The Afghanistan war could have been avoided and the Iraq war was a pure criminal undertaking.
The biggest fans of Bush are Tony Blair of Britain (Bush's poodle), John Howard of Australia and Stephen Harper of Canada (Bush's poodlettes). Bush, Blair and Howard are out of office and it is about time that Harper take a hike too. Michael Ignatieff happens to be Bush's fan also. What does that tell you about the Liberal leader?
Hey Dubya, God told you to invade Iraq and now millions of people around the globe feel that their conscience is compelling them to point out that you're a criminal and to get some atonement through proper trial and a lifetime in jail (I am against capital punishment) and maybe you will not burn in hell for eternity and God may lessen your stay in the hell by a few centuries only.

"Blessed are the meek: for they shall inherit (rule) the earth."
Let's say that the meek shall "rule" the world. According to many accounts the statement originated with Jesus, however earlier philosophers, like Plato and Aristotle, elaborated on it as well. I am not going to become philosophical on it as I may lose some of my readers on this topic. But is there not a lot of truth to this statement?
In the case of Canada we will not discuss this yet as instead of a meek a freak has run the country for the last few years. But the situation is quite different in the US. Barack Obama winning the presidency is quite a feat. Given the nature of black history in North America they will meet the criteria of being meek. Only 50 years ago blacks were still not able to vote and slavery existed in some form or another in the Southern US. Some of the things I observed in the South of the US made me think that equality for blacks has still not arrived in many cases.
Even in Canada we have a very unfortunate history of slavery. As a student I did some work for a certain community, it shall remain unnamed, and I saw an interesting building in that community. I was helping the community to provide some guidelines as to how they should restore their historical buildings but the manager would not show me a particular building which was located somewhat isolated from the rest of the community and quite dilapidated. That raised my curiosity so I spoke to the Mayor if he would help me examine the building. He obliged and then explained the hesitance of the manager to show the building. The mayor said that the community was not proud of the building and that aspect of its history as that particular building was used to house the slaves many decades ago. It was quite an eye-opener for me.
Strangely enough people like Rush Limbaugh, Glenn Beck, Michele Bachmann, Sarah Palin and many of their ilk still cannot reconcile with the fact that a black man occupies the Whitehouse. Especially when all these characters consider themselves religious and despite that they are intellectually very mediocre compared to Barack Obama. Keep in mind that Obama is by far more qualified than any of his Republican opponents and compared to George W. Bush, Obama is a genius. I will be talking about Bush in a subsequent post but suffice to say that that man was not qualified to run the country. Intellectually he is impeded. The last two years' events in the US did make me think of the above words of great wisdom "Blessed are the meek: for they shall inherit (rule) the earth." I think there is lot of truth to those words.
Don't get me wrong because as a president Obama has his own shortcomings and I have criticized him for that in my previous posts and most probably will do so again. But his election as president is an extraordinary accomplishment and in the long run we will move, I hope, towards a more egalitarian society because of that.

Have we not done our part? Sadly nothing has been achieved and we lost many soldiers. More recently it has become obvious that the Afghan mission included the one trillion dollar minerals which the former USSR first found in Afghanistan. This Ignatieff guy is a colonialist through and through. He is at the wrong place at the wrong time. Politics is not his cup of tea. Someone cart him away while his hands are still on his eyes and he cannot see. I doubt he can see even if his hands are not on his eyes. Or post him in Afghanistan and he may learn something. Cyber Wars
Watch CBS News Videos Online
This story on 60 Minutes of CBS was an eye-opener on how cyber attacks could plunge major cities like New York, Los Angles and others into complete darkness. It already happened in Rio De Janeiro, Brazil.
This story talks about ordinary power plants being electronically attacked. However, consider the same for nuclear power plants, which is not mentioned on the CBC story, and if they can be burned down through electronic interference – viruses, etc. It could be catastrophic. That is why I am not a great believer in nuclear power plants as they are promoted as being a clean source of energy but potentially are very dangerous.
I will think that such an attack, sitting thousands of miles away in front of one' computer, on nuclear power plants could be catastrophic and potentially more deadly than 9/11. Technology brought a lot of luxuries of life and brought quite an economic boom but it could turn into a calamitous bust in a short time through such cyber attacks.
If proper care is not taken and effective deterrents are not used such cyber attacks can possibly cause cataclysmic results that world has not seen before. Recommend this post

Israel and intransigence
I used to think that Israel is intransigent. Then this fellow, kind of a spokesperson for Israel, started leaving comments on my blog defending every action of Israel. I tried to reason with him and pointed out what the world thinks of Israeli actions. He basically said the world does not matter, only Israel matters and called Palestinians barbarians which is a derogatory term for Arabs. Now I know for a fact that Israel is intransigent and as 60% Europeans said in a survey Israel is the biggest danger to world peace, bigger than Iran, North Korea and the US. It all makes sense. Thanks to this spokesperson, he proved that beyond any reasonable doubt. Here is a sample of his comments.
Mike said...
"They continue to build new settlements on Palestinian land. Give your head a shake. "
I used to believe in that one myself when I was more naive. As much as I dislike the fact that Israel builds in disputed territories this should not be a concern. Building there and then returning it is a waste of Israel's money and nothing more.
When Israel evacuated its settlements in Gaza, it returned the territory WITH the homes we built on it. We even offered them to destroy them if they do not like our building style.
The first thing those barbarians did when they got the land was to set the synagogues on fire.

BP digging a deeper hole for itself
First it was Tony-Tiny Hayward who said that the leak in the Gulf of Mexico was tiny compared to the vast ocean. Sure Tony-Tiny or with Tiny brain. Now it is British politicians who are speaking out for BP that Americans and the Obama administration is too harsh on BP. Hello! 11 people died on the first day of the explosion and a huge ecosystem is in ruins as dirty oil keeps spewing out from the broken pipe, maybe over 100,000 barrels per day. And thousands of fishermen are out of luck and out of a job; the same goes for tourism and the entertainment industry which depends on tourism. Now these politicians have put their foot in their mouth.
It sounds like British colonialism all over again. BP and Tony Hayward are their little satellites sent around the world to keep their subjects under control. How much more insensitive and ridiculous will they get? Maybe the crudeness of the British could be attributed to all that crude oil they're covered with – now it turns out that BP is going to sell the crude it manages to recover. Profits and greed shall rule the world.
Chuck Schumer's Reprehensible Statements: Why shouldn't he resign like Helen Thomas
This is what Helen Thomas said:
Asked what Jews in Israel should do, Thomas says "go home." Asked where that home is, she replies: "Poland. Germany. And America and everywhere else."
She was forced into retirement over this; now here is what Senator Chuck Schumer said:
"Palestinian people still don't believe in the Jewish state, in a two-state solution... they don't believe in the Torah, in David... you have to force them to say Israel is here to stay." He emphasized the need "to strangle them economically until they see that's not the way to go."
Criticizing Palestinians for not sharing your religious beliefs? Advocating starving them so they agree with your political views? Shouldn't Schumer have to step down too? Or is there a double standard? Are we to de-value the lives of Palestinian Arabs?
And, I should add, Chuck Schumer's information is not even accurate. According to a recent poll 74% of Palestinians want a two-state solution and even Hamas would be open to a two-state solution if the Palestinian state is recognized.
Update: Schumer's hateful statement has gone viral. A lot of stuff on the Daily Kos.
"The idea Schumer is expressing is the same Dov expressed: to make them suffer but not die. That is a war crime. To do what Dov and Chuck are suggesting is certainly against the Geneva convention. Schumer supports war crimes. Make no mistake about that."

Ten Commandments and Israel today
A gentleman has been coming on my blog and leaving extensive comments, reasonably polite, but insisting that Israel is right and Palestinians and other Arabs are wrong and the whole world is wrong and only Israel is on the right path. It is this gentleman who motivated me to do this video because I watched with horror what Israel did in 2008 and 2009 and the whole world sat on the sidelines.
In Ten Commandments what Judaism teaches is peace and Israel is doing quite the opposite. Israel carried out mass killing in 2008/2009 in Gaza and Lebanon. It carried out killings before this, and it continues to do so to this day. Gaza is like a concentration camp as some world leaders put it. Rev. Desmond Tutu called the treatment of Palestinians apartheid and a Jewish British MP said that Israel was behaving like Nazis see my earlier post
Israel is building settlements on land which belongs to Palestinians. That is definitely not the way to peaceful co-existence. When you take other people’s land and homes there will be reaction. Just think of it this way, if your neighbour plants a bush a few inches on your property how would you react? Now think of that neighbour taking over your home and pushing you into the shed. And then build a huge fence around that shed to keep you imprisoned in there. It is this kind of injustice that the Israeli government is perpetuating on the Palestinian people. As long as that goes on there is a very little chance for peace. Israel must obey UN resolutions and pull back to pre-war 1967 boundaries. This is essential for peaceful co-existence. The two state solution will be the solution and even leaders in Gaza have said, including Hamas, that they will fully recognize the existence of Israel if this happens. Those actions are needed for the sake of Israel, for the sake of Palestinians, and for the sake of peace. Recommend this post
