Socrates's views on soul and God

The question of God and soul has always baffled me. Below is the commentary of Socrates views on divinity.

"If anything in general can be said about the philosophical beliefs of Socrates, it is that he was morally, intellectually, and politically at odds with his fellow Athenians. When he is on trial for heresy and corrupting the minds of the youth of Athens, he uses his method of elenchos to demonstrate to the jurors that their moral values are wrong-headed. He tells them they are concerned with their families, careers, and political responsibilities when they ought to be worried about the "welfare of their souls". Socrates' belief in the immortality of the soul, and his conviction that the gods had singled him out as a divine emissary seemed to provoke, if not ridicule, at least annoyance. Socrates also questioned the Sophistic doctrine that arete (virtue) can be taught. He liked to observe that successful fathers (such as the prominent military general Pericles) did not produce sons of their own quality. Socrates argued that moral excellence was more a matter of divine bequest than parental nurture. This belief may have contributed to his lack of anxiety about the future of his own sons."

Jesus available online

Now you can discuss all your problems with him and through him with God. It is so easy.:) Here is the link.

Talking about Jesus I always thought that lazy people didn't shave. Last month or so I was lazy and didn't shave. One lady told me that I looked like Jesus.  Maybe God will provide me an open line and I have a lot to discuss with God. So guys and gals you must be very respectful  towards me. :)

Albert Eistein's view on God

Albert Einstein (1879-1955)

Clarification: While the New York Times noted that "Einstein consistently characterized the idea of a personal God who answers prayers as naive, and life after death as wishful thinking," he also "described himself as an 'agnostic' and 'not an atheist.'" One ambiguous quote, from Einstein's response to a letter from a sixth-grade student named Phyllis Wright, reads "Everyone who is seriously involved in the pursuit of science becomes convinced that a spirit is manifest in the laws of the universe - a spirit vastly superior to that of man, and one in the face of which we with our modest powers must feel humble. In this way the pursuit of science leads to a religious feeling of a special sort, which is indeed quite different from the religiosity of someone more naive." --German physicist, created theory of general relativity.

John Shimkus: God will save us against any climate change

John Shimkus is a US congressman. This man is seeking the chairmanship of a powerful congressional committee on energy policy. So much for the climate change. We should all speak to his God and seek some reassurance.
Where the hell do they get these morons to elect for the Congress of US?

Update: New Jersey Governor Chris Christie chimes in. He says he is doubtful that humans cause global warming. It must be all God's fault. Read the story here.

Jesus burned by the Act of God

Visit msnbc.com for breaking news, world news, and news about the economy

Watch the video above from MSNBC's Keith Olbermann. Armageddon? God is angry? Actually God does not care how many statues of Jesus we build or how many churches, mosques, synagogues and temples we build. What matters is what we do, our deeds, how we treat each other.

Bush said that God told him to invade Iraq and a million innocent people were butchered, many others displaced and millions others live in squalor. If there is a God then this is a crime against God. If Bush/Cheney were going to commit crimes for oil in Iraq and minerals in Afghanistan (Americans knew about these minerals before the invasion as the former USSR first discovered them) then at least they must not use the name of God. It was not Almighty God who was talking to them, it was was almighty oil, almighty minerals, and almighty money talking to them. The sooner we learn from the follies of our ways, the better the world we can build for ourselves and for generations to come.

Creation of the world

Like The Wingnuterer, I will probably go to hell... but isn't this how God created humanity, in seven days? He must be quite sadistic, look at the mess humans are causing.

Before Creationists get mad at me, wait for my picture on evolution.
